Flying Pig Pump N' Run

Strength Meets Speed for a Cause

Urban Outreach NKY/Cincinnati is back with the PUMP N’ RUN—the ultimate test of power and pace. We’re not just hitting the pavement; we’re raising the funds needed to expand our youth program.


How does it work?

The Pump N’ Run combines weightlifting and running skills within one unique event. A person bench presses a percentage of their body weight based upon an age and gender handicap, and each bench repetition reduces their run time. A lighter lift formula is used for the longer Half and Full Marathon Runs.  In addition to awards given in each age group for the “Fastest Net Run Time”, there are also Pump Club medals which can be earned: 


  • 10 to 19 reps earns a “Bronze” 10-Pump Club Medal 
  • 20 to 29 reps earns a “Silver” 20-Pump Club Medal 
  • 30+ reps earns the ultimate “Gold” 30-Pump Club Medal

Where do I lift?

Stop by our booth at the First Financial Center (formerly Duke Energy Convention Center) during the Race Packet Pick up during the hours listed below to complete your bench press.  Please note your must complete your bench press prior to your race. 

Friday, May 1, 2026 10 am - 7 pm

Saturday, May 2, 2026 10 am - 5 pm

  

  Note: Two Registrations are required. Using the links below, first register for the Flying Pig  

Running Event, then register for the Pump N’ Run Option for that same Running Event 

(i.e. If select 5K run, then select PNR5K, if select 10K run then select PNR10K, etc.)

LIFT Rules

1.) During weigh-in, minimum attire must be worn: Shorts, T-Shirt and Socks. 

2.) Rep begins at full arm extension, then bar is lowered down until touches chest, then back to full extension. Arms must “lock- out” at top position.

3.) Back and Rear must be flat on bench, and both feet must be flat on ground.

4.) Hands must be inside, or touching smooth outer rings of Olympic Bar.

5.) NO BOUNCING BAR OFF CHEST! Rep will not count if bar bounces off chest.

6.) Motion must be continuous with no rests or pauses at the top and chest positions. A noticeable resting pause will nullify previous rep.

7.) No Bench Shirts allowed

8.) Liability Waiver must be signed, prior to pumping.
